Ken (name can be changed) is the male protagonist of Metal Max 2: Reloaded and cannot be removed from the party. Most of his class appearances depicts him to be around 16-18 years old. His female counterpart is Rena.
Appearance[]
Ken is a young boy whose appearance and class are decided by the player at the start of the game. His personality is that of a blank state, but can be altered to some degree via in-game choices. He can be either confident, arrogant, heroic, or self-serving when interacting with the world and people around him.
His equipment and skills are restricted to his starting Class and Sub-Class. His default appearance from the Hunter class is unique and cannot be replicated via the party creation system (Nukka's Bar), so the player can only choose it at the start of the game.
History[]
As a child, Ken's parents were killed by the Grapplers. Somehow he survived, and later on picked up to be raised by Maria. Under Maria's tutelage, Ken grows up to be a promising hunter.
At the start of the game, Maria brought Ken along on a mission to protect the Mado city. After exchanging pleasantries with other 3 hunters, Maria asked Ken to run away and survive should the mission goes dire. Soon, the Grapplers' army arrive and Maria's team fight them, with Ken simply standing behind to watch.
While the first batches of soldiers are easily defeated, one of the Grapplers' Four Heavenly Kings, Ted Broiler, proved to be too powerful. He killed the other 3 hunters with ease, before cornering Maria and Ken. Maria died protecting Ken, and despite his best efforts, Ken cannot run away or defeat Ted. He also gets killed by Ted, and the city went up in flames.
As the Grapplers' army left the city, people who've been hiding inside the bunker came out and lament their loss. By a stroke of miracle, Ken is still alive and a little girl named Irit noticed him.
Several days passed, and Ken recovered under Irit's care. After a short tour around the ruined Mado city, Irit asked Ken what would he want to do now. Ken wants to avenge Maria by chasing and defeating the Grapplers; though when asked the reason, he can either answer it's simply for revenge or because it's the right thing to do.
Either way, Irit gives Ken her blessing and wishes him well on the journey ahead. And so, Ken's quest for revenge (and maybe justice) begins...
